What are Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers?
ACH transfers are bank-to-bank transfers that are processed through the Automated Clearing House.
There are 2 main types of ACH transfers:
- ACH direct debits - funds are drawn directly out of your account for the payment. They are commonly used for direct deposits to employees, bill payments or paying other businesses.
- ACH direct credit - this is when someone sends you payment via ACH transfer.
How long does it take for an ACH payment to post?
Payments made via ACH direct debit will post to your vendor's account within 3 - 5 business days.
Payments made prior to 3:00 PM EST will be processed on the same day while payments made after 3:00 PM EST will be processed the next day.
